Potential Energy of air is its Pressure, P, expressed in energy per volume:

The principle of conservation of energy is expressed in the Bernoulli Equation (Chris Heintz formulation expressed in energy per volume):

$P_{total}=\frac{1}{2}\rho v^2+P_{static}$
